Why Digital Measurement Records Improve Made-to-Measure Reorders
A practical data model for customer measurements, posture, fit feedback and repeat orders.
A measurement is meaningful only with context
Store the unit system, measurement type, garment category, date and person who recorded it. Body measurements and finished-garment measurements must remain separate. Posture observations and fit preferences should be structured fields rather than hidden inside free-form notes.
Never overwrite history
When a customer changes weight or requests a fit correction, create a new dated version. The previous record explains what changed and protects the store from repeating an old mistake. Link every order to the measurement version used at approval time.
Turn delivery feedback into the next order
After delivery, record whether the customer accepted the fit, requested alteration or changed preference. A reorder should begin from the last accepted garment, not simply the newest numbers. This makes repeat service faster while keeping the final decision visible to staff.
